Lush Space Girl Bath Ballistic

Baths are boring! I'd take a shower over a bath anyday but recently I've been wanting to just chill out at night and watch my TV shows on Netflix. I was in Glasgow at the weekend and decided to pop into Lush as I haven't been in one of their stores in literally ages. I picked up a few goodies, and the Space Girl Bath Ballistic was definitely one of my favourites of the bunch. Lots of people think this one smells like parma violets, but I get more of a sherbet feel from it. I absolutely adored the scent of the product itself, and it made the bath water smell gorgeous too. I chucked this into bath and was really impressed with the colours it gave off and the way it fizzed about (it contains popping candy!) It makes the water sparkly too! What could be better? As you'll see from the video, it first gives off a stunning swirl of red and lilac, and then starts turning more into purple tones. One of the key ingredients in Space Girl is grapefruit oil which Lush says "refreshes and uplifts your mood" and "clarifies and tones the skin". It also has bergamot inside, which is good for relaxation. Whether it was this bath ballistic in particular, or just the hot water, I definitely felt relaxed on this occasion. Space Girl is also preservative-free, if that kind of thing is important to you. I loved using this yummy and highly-entertaining bath ballistic from Lush, and can't wait to try more in the future! If I had one of these for every day, bath time would be the highlight of my evening. This one is a definite repurchase.

Etsy Wishlist #3

I consider myself a major girly girl - I love all things pink, sparkly, glittery, cute, sequinned, you name it. On the other hand I equally adore the macabre, dark and sinister. One of my 'things' is skulls. Skulls on everything. You name it - skull books, ornaments, jewellery, clothing, shoes. The list is endless. Anything with a skull on it or a skull itself just does it for me. I want to adorn my whole flat with them, nay, my whole life. It's just an obsession of mines that is steadily growing out of control. So you won't be surprised to see that this edition of my Etsy wishlist is mainly skull-themed. Be afraid, be very afraid!

1. Small Glass Cross Pendant Choker Necklace - £2.70
2. Sugar Skull Upcycled Dictionary Art - £4.36
3. Sugar Skull Filagree - £18.10
4. Sugar Skull Wooden iPhone Case - £12.47

L-R top row: Rimmel Lasting Finish by Kate in 107, L'Oreal Color Riche Serum in True Red, Sleek True Colour Lipstick in Russian Roulette, MAC Stylistics Lipglass in Witty, Collection Lasting Colour Lipstick in Valentine, Butter London Lippy in Chancer, Revlon Lip Butter in Candy Apple, Dior Ultra Gloss Reflect in 757
L-R bottom row: MAC Lipglass in Russian Red, Rimmel Exaggerate Full Colour Lipliner in Red Diva

Red is a colour that I feel, looks fantastic on everyone - from the palest and milkiest to the deepest and darkest skin tones. What makes red such a dynamic and versatile colour is that there is a whole spectrum of contrasting shades, which you can match to your own mood, outfit or accessories. I found what I could from my collection of red lip products to showcase just how very different reds can be when compared alongside. For me, red is the embodiment of power, brazenness and individualism. Since it's still winter (we had snow yesterday!), you can pull off these colours with ease and look every inch the goddess you can be.

Have a fabulous day, whatever you're doing!

MAC Nocturnals Pigments & Glitter in Silver/Violet (Holiday 2013)

I know I probably should have posted about these in the days after Christmas, but unfortunately, I'm just getting round to it now. I appreciate that these may not be as readily available online or in-store as they were in the past couple of months, but I still wanted to share these with you all. Even if you can't find this anywhere, know that at least two of the shades are in the permanent collection! MAC is my favourite make-up brand and I always get so excited when I receive any of their products as a gift. I don't usually opt for pigments when it comes to buying MAC eye products as they are generally quite messy and I just prefer pressed shadows. Nevertheless, I will still endeavour to use these as best I can. I think these colours in particular would be great for an evening look. For now, here's some photos!

L-R: Vanilla (permanent), Kitschmas (permanent), Pink (glitter), Push The Edge (repromote), Grey (glitter)

Swatched L-R: Kitschmas, Vanilla, Grey (glitter), Push The Edge, Pink (glitter)

Grey (glitter)

Pink (glitter)

Push The Edge

All of these shades look gorgeous in their own right but going by the swatches, there could be a few hits or misses. Vanilla and Kitschmas are undeniably stunning when reflected in the light and their pigmentation is nice and opaque. Push The Edge appears to be the weakest of the bunch, as it's colour pay-off is not as bold as it appears to be in the packaging. A real judgement can only be made once I wear it on my eyes, so hopefully this performs better when actually worn as intended. The glitters were pretty damn difficult to swatch, but I think used with an eye-safe glitter adhesive, they would create a beautiful mass of sparkly goodness on the eyes! This kit will sit proudly in my ever-growing MAC collection. I just hope it really wows me when I go to try them out!

What do you think of MAC pigments?

Shiseido Perfect Rouge Lipstick in RD325

I love high-end make-up, and I love paying stupid prices for a single item because it makes me feel as I've added something truly special to my collection. I always ask for make-up for my birthday and my little brother kindly let me pick this Shiseido Perfect Rouge Lipstick (£22 / 4g/.14oz) from Boots. I've never tried anything by Shiseido before, mainly because I would probably only order one thing at a time because they're so damn expensive. When making an order online or buying beauty products from a shop, I like to buy as many things at the one time as I can afford, naturally. I had high expectations for this lipstick and I was not disappointed in the slightest. From the get go, I felt as though I was getting my money's worth as the packaging is so classy and expensive-looking (I should hope so!) The lipstick casing is similarly sleek and elegant, and is something you'd be proud to show off on a night out. I love the contrast of the shiny outer casing against the matte-effect tube in which the lipstick resides. The lipstick colour itself is a pinky-red, which for me, makes my teeth look even whiter! Result! The pigmentation is opaque and gives a matte finish, which is surprisingly not drying. Mattes usually have a horrible drying effect, but this one does not. The lipstick is comfortable and easy to apply - it doesn't exactly glide over the lips per se, but there's certainly no tugging or pulling. It's lack of scent makes it great for those of you are sensitive to smell. This particular shade, RD325, goes rather nicely with my pale skin, and is simply perfect along with a minimalist eye look. In terms of staying power, it will last a good few hours at the very least, which is amazing. Let's be realistic though, one has to eat and drink! When drinking it stays put and doesn't really stain on the glass either. However when I ate, as I expect with every lipstick, it did fade and left a ring of colour around the perimeter of my lips. This does not put me off in the slightest, as I am so used to re-applying lip products after eating anyway. All in all, I've had a gorgeous experience with this lippy, and definitely feel inclined to try out more make-up from Shiseido in the future. I would highly recommend it if you're willing to break the bank for a bit of luxury. It's well worth it every now and then!

Hope you found this review helpful! Have a beautiful day, as always :)

Bourjois Délice de Poudre Bronzing Powder

Bronzer is something I've always been absolutely terrified of. My thought process is that it would make me look as if I've slathered chocolate milkshake powder or mud on my face. Something unbecoming and gross-looking anyway. Seeing other people in the beauty blogger world rant and rave about bronzers made me a bit jealous that I was missing out on all the fun, so I decided to take the plunge a month or two ago. Being pale and adding some sort of warmth to my face never appealed to me before, but I'm happy to report that it does infact look nice! If you're a bit iffy like I was, just try it out. You may be pleasantly surprised, and it opens a whole new world of beauty products that have previously been left unexplored. My choice of bronzer to pick up was Bourjois Délice de Poudre Bronzing Powder in shade 52 (£6.99 / 16.5g/0.6oz). I'd seen loads of bloggers posting about this little gem and wanted to see for myself what the hype was all about. Firstly, and I'm sure you'll agree, the packaging is so unique and is generally just a nice thing to look at. I know there are other chocolate-themed or scented bronzers out there, but the Bourjois one looks to be one of a kind. It's like a little book which when opened reveals the product which looks like a slab of chocolate. I just can't get over how adorable and cool the whole thing is! I apply the product with a powder brush to the perimeter of my face, my jawline and my cheekbones. Applying to the upper facial perimeter adds a healthy glow and contouring the cheekbones makes my face appear thinner and adds dimension. Adding bronzer to the jawline gives definition which is especially great for those of us carrying more weight. You could also apply to the décolletage area if you want.

This bronzer is fabulous for people just starting out with bronzer, as it looks natural and is buildable. If you look closely, you can see flecks of gold shimmer embedded within the product but these do not translate to the face. The texture itself is smooth and buttery-soft. Probably one of the features that draws people in the most is the scent, which is supposed to be that of chocolate. I'll admit when I first smelled the product I really did not like it. It smelled too prosthetic for me, and I didn't get even a hint of chocolate, just a generic sweet scent. As you use the product more and more, for whatever reason, the chocolate scent comes through and it's a scent that I actually really love. I'm usually not a fan of chocolate-scented beauty products as they never smell as they are supposed to, but just give this one a bit of time if you experienced the same first impression as me. Bourjois' bronzing powder has definitely not hindered my interest in bronzing products, infact, it has made me want to get out there and try all different kinds, creams and powders alike. Overall, I've had a surprising and positively lovely experience with this product! It's something I now use on a day-to-day basis and I would highly recommend it to you all.

Thanks for reading, and I hope this review helped!
Have an amazing day!

Hello everyone, and Happy New Year! I'd like to apologise for my unexpected hiatus, but I'm so happy to say that I'm back and ready to get back into the swing of things. I've really missed blogging and getting to talk to all of my lovely readers and fellow beauty bloggers alike. Being away for a while made me realise how much I love doing this. 2013 was a pretty crap year - at least for me it was anyway. I'm gonna make sure 2014 is amazing. Sitting around waiting for things to happen is boring! Anyway, enough of this inane babbling, let's kick off the year with a wee outfit of the day post!

Today I went out for lunch at my local pub with my friend and my daughter, so it was a casual kind of day for me. Earlier this morning I got my Forever 21 delivery through the door which I'm basically wearing all of as you'll see in the photos. They are still doing their 50% off winter sale, so get in there while you can. I didn't have to iron these garments since they were new, which suited me fine as I've been really lazy over the Christmas period and have been enjoying long lies almost every day. Oops. I'm back to work this Monday coming though, so I will need to form some sort of routine, otherwise I'll be sleeping through my alarm.

Neon stripes top - £4.99 (sale price) - Forever 21
Electric lips bracelet - £3.15 (sale price) - Forever 21
Pinstripe geo leggings - £6.99 (sale price) - Forever 21
Boots - £unknown - River Island

I used to wear dresses quite a lot, but have recently stopped as I've noticed my arse looks massive in them, to put it bluntly. Leggings and a jumper or t-shirt just look better on me right now, and they're super comfy to wear too. This particular combo that I wore today flattered me pretty well I think. I love my River Island boots but I don't think they'll be unavailable anymore, as I bought them ages and ages ago. If you're willing to trawl through the hundreds of pages on River Island's website, you may just be able to find them though. If you can't, you will almost certainly be able to find boots that are similar in other stores or online.

I hope you all enjoyed this fun, little OOTD post. Leave me a comment below and tell me if you would wear this outfit or not! Love you all, and have a fabulous evening whatever you're doing!
