Fashion/Beauty Haul + New Piercing!

Over the past week I've made a conscious effort to buy new clothes for Summer (hopefully) coming to Scotland. It's not a guarantee that we will get good weather in the coming months, but it's always better to be prepared. I get really uncomfortable in warmer weather, especially if I'm wearing clothes that I would put on for a normal, dry day. I would rather not splurge on clothing so I took a trip to Asda with my friend earlier in the week to see what I could find. George actually stocks some really cute clothing and accessories, so it's definitely worth a look if you don't want to break the bank.

Hamsa diamante earrings - £3.00
Pink diamante hair clip - £4.00

Underwear - 3 pairs for £6.00

Flannel shirt - £14.00

Flora/polka dot top - £8.00
Sorry for the crappy lighting in these first four photos. I promise the ones later in the post are much better and brighter!

Whilst doing the rounds in Asda, I mosied on over the make-up aisle and picked up some bits and bobs there too. As usual, I did not actually need anything that I bought. The obsession is getting worse, I'm telling you...

(Picked up the wrong shade by accident!)

(Effaclar Duo bought from Boots online, but wanted to include it in this haul)

Yesterday, me and my friend took a trip into Glasgow for a wander. I wasn't looking for anything in particular shopping-wise, but I did know that I wanted to get my nose pierced. I went into my usual piercing/tattoo studio Forevermore Tattoo Parlour, and decided to go for my left nostril. I've had three piercings and three of my tattoos done there, and have never had any complaints. If you're in the Glasgow area or thereabouts, I would highly recommend paying them a visit if you're looking for any body mods. I always get much more nervous before a piercing compared to a tattoo, but alas, beauty is pain. I think the worst part is the jewellery being shoved in after the initial piercing. I was offered either a plain stud or a jewelled stud, and me being me went for the sparkly option. I do want to have the stud changed into a ring, but a nose piercing does not fully heal until after 3-4 months.

Nose piercing - £23.00
Lovely jubbly!

We also took a trip into Primark, where I picked up some other bits and bobs. Has anyone else noticed that Primark is steadily getting more and more expensive? Not impressed!

Royal blue shorts - £5.00

Marvel pyjama set - £8.00

Fashion nails - £1.00
Hand sanitiser gel - £0.60

Pink animal print top - £5.00

Marvel leggings - £8.00

Saving to the best til last, I bought this absolutely stunning Lipglass from MAC's Summer collection, Alluring Aquatic. I seriously cannot get over how beautiful this packaging is. I love all things nautical and oceanic, so I'd love to get my hands on more from this collection.

What was your favourite item from my haul?
Let me know in the comments what you're buying for this Summer :)
Have a lovely weekend,

Last month saw the launch of new social media platform GlamST, created by two talented ladies from Uruguay. Aimed specifically at those who are interested in make-up, their mission is to provide an online tool for creating and sharing virtual make-up looks and in turn, helping people buy the right product with the help of it's users and features. GlamST's virtual makeover tool uses smart technology to show you what make-up products will look like. If you're into trying before buying, then this could be great for you. Have you always been too afraid to try out a bold-coloured mascara? You can test it out using the makeover tool, and see for yourself how it suits your eye colour and skin tone. To use the makeover tool as effectively as possibly, take a clear and high quality photo of yourself. Upload the photo and adjust the dots to frame your face, eyes and lips as prompted on screen. Et voila! Let's go on and talk about the newly added features available for you to try: Looks and Eyes.

The Looks section of the website is where you can save and share your own make-up creations. You can also see the virtual makeovers of other users and find out exactly what products they used. For instance, if you see a makeover with a gorgeous shade of pink lipstick that you'd love to try out for yourself, simply click on the photo and go to Info. Clicking this will show you all of the products used to achieve a look! With a simple click of the 'Try' button, the look you've chosen will be tested on your own photo. You can even tell someone 'Go, Girl!', to show them you really like what they've got going on. Liking and sharing looks on GlamST itself, or to your other social media platforms is super easy and one click away.

The Eyes section of the site was my favourite part. If I had to choose to wear only one make-up item for the rest of my life, it would be good old liquid liner. I thoroughly enjoyed trying on various eyeliners and experimenting with different shapes and styles. If you usually apply your eyeliner with a light hand, why not try something new and see if you would suit a heavier application, and vice versa? If you don't feel brave enough to try a certain look, then you can always just use this tool for fun. Personally, I think this is a great tool for experimenting and seeing what a product looks like if you can't make it to your nearest make-up retailer. Sign up today and give it a go!

If you'd like to see future make-up creations from me using GlamST, you can follow me on Pinterest or Twitter. Stay up to date with all things glam by following the official GlamST Twitter.

L'Oreal Skin Perfection 3 in 1 Purifying Micellar Solution

(Long story about what happened to the bottle)

After a long day at work, sometimes you just cannot be bothered using a regular cleanser to take your make-up off. Even though I feel lazy at times, I still don't want to go to bed with my make-up on as I know how bad it is for my skin. That's where L'Oreal Skin Perfection 3 in 1 Purifying Micellar Solution, £4.49 comes in. This micellar water is amazingly easy to use and is quick at removing even the toughest of make-up. Liquid eyeliner can be swiped away effortlessly and the brightest, boldest lipstick will disappear in one or two rubs. At a fraction of the cost of the infamous Bioderma Sensibio H2O Micelle Solution, it boasts a massive amount of product at 200ml. Usually, this retails for around £4.99, but is currently half-price on If I've swayed you enough with this review, then you should go ahead and snap up this amazing bargain while you can. It's safe to say you're getting your money's worth here. To apply, all you do is drop some of the product on a cotton pad and wipe away. You do not have to completely saturate a cotton pad as you won't use all of it. If you have sensitive skin, then you shouldn't have any problems with using this. The solution has no fragrance, which I love, and it's never irritated the sensitive skin on my cheeks. This micellar solution has three claims: to dissolve make-up, unclog pores and remove impurities, and to tone and soothe skin. It dissolves and removes make-up fantastically, leaving your skin au naturale in no time. There's certaintly no frantic scrubbing to remove mascara or eyebrow pencil using this. Whether it 'unclogs pores' or not is a bit of a tricky statement I feel. Yes, it unclogs make-up from my pores, but there's not enough power there to remove all the other nasties (sebum, dirt, etc.) That's where I'd have to use other beauty treatments, like a face mask, and that's fine. Does it tone and soothe the skin? Yes, I believe it does. The liquid feels lovely and cool on the skin, so if you're feeling a bit flushed you could absolutely use this even if you don't have make-up on. I'll admit I can sometimes be a bit wasteful with this product, but it lasts a good while nonetheless. I honestly cannot fault this product in any way, and I will be repurchasing my second bottle very soon. If a cheap dupe for Bioderma is what you want, this is it!

Have you tried L'Oreal's version of the micellar water?
